Though you can't see me, I'm jumping up and down in happiness knowing that someone a half of world away has thought of me!
So...without further ado...
Top 5 Reasons Why I Blog
1) I love to write. My degree (despite inquiries about Comp Sci) is in Journalism, and I always found wordsmithery quite engrossing. And with this, why do I have to go to the trouble of getting published? I can publish my own work!
2) I love not to work. Laziness, it is true, is another impetus to blog. You see...I can log in, type a bit on my blog about something and put off a work project just a few minutes longer.
3) I love to let people around me know what I think is important. Ever have one of those conversations on the phone that goes like this...
How boring. My life is a quickly mutating thing and my thoughts change like the wind. Whatever I think of right now, today might not be the first thing that I think of when I see someone or talk to them. Therefore, if a friend/relative/stalker wants to know what I'm thinking/doing/obsessed with, it's a better picture if they just read the blog than if they come to talk with me. Additionally, as my boss recently said, "Geeks don't use the phone." It's true. I hate the phone.
With my blog I can preach about things that I feel important, like bike riding, reducing your impact on the earth, computer stuff, living the Madison lifestyle, etc. I don't know if others get sick of my ranting, but if they don't like listening to me, they don't have to read. You know...I just passed 30,000 page views with blogspot, and I'm approaching 1000 posts, so someone cares about what I think.
4) I feel a community around me and part of that community. The number of amazing people who I've met though this activity, both in person and virtually, is truly astounding.
5) Sometimes I get linked to by another person or site, and it makes me feel special. And everyone needs to feel special sometimes. I feel special because of this blog every day. I'm very proud of it. Kind of hokey, I know, but there it is.
So...who to tag? C'mon people...give me 5 reasons why you blog.

2) NYC Transplant Russ and the NYer Gang (if only to give him content for his blog)
3) Murph though he probably won't do it.
4) Armless Bear because I want to know 5 hot reasons for doing what they do.

Hey, thanks for the content! Yep, go to my place for my list. Although, to be honest, there aren't that many colorful responses to this question. Murph's answers were much better.
