Who Do I Look Like?
I read this post about a facial recognition website where they can scan a picture of you and then tell you what celebrities you most resemble.
I tried it with this picture. They came up with only one match. 65% match for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. I respect her. She's a tough, smart woman. But come on, couldn't they come up with someone improbable like Elizabeth Hurley or something that I could mock while being secretly pleased? I even let the recognition engine run for a good five minutes, and that's all it came up with.
I tried another picture, just to be sure, but that couldn't even find my face.
I recently was told by a graduate student that I bore a striking resemblance to Linda Hamilton. That's a little better than Hillary. But he was not exactly the kind of guy from whom you would enjoy hearing flattery. (Think about the comic book guy from the Simpsons...or Bruce Villach from the Hollywood Squares...and you just about have a picture of him, complete with the too short t-shirt that doesn't cover a bulging beer gut.)
Well, try it yourself. It's a fun site, even if you only look like a US Senator.
UPDATE: Another picture of me and my sister came up with the following....Hillary Duff (68%), Patricia Arquette (65%), Annette Bening (66%), Gladys Knight (59%). That's more like it. ¶ 8:41 AM

Hey - I tried out the facial recognition thing and it kept coming up with no matches no matter what photo i used! does this mean I'm am the woman with no face??? have a great 2006! :)
Hi Sara, Well, I now have that horrible cold you had last week. I guess I am lucky I was feeling for the holidays :) I tried the facial recognition. I can't say I agree but, here goes. Jennifer Aniston 68%, the only thing she and I have in common is that we are both Greek :) Kim Novak, Courtney Cox, Naomi Watts. Shania Twain and Kate Winslet were all in the 50% and higher. Sheesh, I wish I looked like any one of these stars on any given day. It was fun. Thanks.
